New Pieces: MoonChild, Turrets and Big Lock

A productive week: ally and enemy turrets, a big lock and our first keyboard controlled piece. Enjoy!

MoonChild: We're very excited to introduce our first keyboard controlled piece, a platformer character named MoonChild. This cute little guy looks right and left and can be controlled mid-jump. I trust you'll love him. He's controlled with the arrow keys.

Smart Turret: A worthy enemy. It knows where the player is and fires on sight.

Armored Ally: The Smart Turret had you worried? Fortunately, you can enlist the help of a powerful ally. This turret targets enemies and cannot be destroyed.

Big Lock: A larger option to the Lock we released last week. Touch with the Key to open.

New pieces: Laser & Auto Turrets, Lock & Key, Taker Bar

Our new pieces this week. Enjoy!

Laser Turret: A player controlled piece, this turret fires laser at a rapid rate. Both the reload time and accuracy are adjustable.

Key: You've asked for it and there it is! Touching the key to the lock makes them both disappear. The key can have gravity turned on or off.

Lock: Will block the way until it is unlocked by the key.

Auto Turret: It scans the world and automatically fires on sight. A strong defense against various enemies.

Taker Bar: A quick way to turn an entire wall into a death zone.

New Pieces: Bee Hive, 2 Backgrounds and 4 Songs

Our new pieces this week: a new enemy, 2 new backgrounds and 4 new songs!

Bee Hive: Beware of this new fearsome enemy. A new bee comes out of the hive every few seconds and starts to randomly buzz around the world. The bees can be destroyed (and will kill each other) but the hive itself is invincible.

Catacomb Floor: A top-down view background. Bring your game inside gloomy catacombs.

Forest Floor: A top-down view background if you prefer taking your games outside.

4 New Songs by Kevin MacLeod: A Mission, Stoneworld Battle, Crisis and Colossus.

New Feature: Level Management

We're very pleased to announce a new feature we have just released today: level management. We've added an All Level view to the Workshop editor.

The All Level view lets you:
  • Re-order game levels simply by dragging and dropping them
  • Quickly jump to a level by selecting it in the All Level view
  • Duplicate a level so you can use it as the basis for a new one
  • See all the levels in your game at once.
We think you will do a lot with this new feature and we can't wait to see longer, and even better games. :-) In addition we have increased the number of level limit per game from 10 to 30.

New Pieces: Shortbow, Demon and Elevators

We just put out some new game pieces. Enjoy!

Shortbow: Unlike other shooters, its arrows are affected by gravity. Check out those nice parabolic curves!

Bull Demon: It's scary and invincible. It will chase after you, but only if it can see you. My advice: don't let him see you!

Elevator: Going up? Yes, please. Edit the distance traveled, the speed and the length of the pause between the trips. Can make for a nice trampoline if you jack up the bounciness.

Air Block: Oscillates, either pushing or blocking. Can be rotated for diagonal trajectories.

We've added some new game pieces. Can't wait to see what games you are going to make with them. Have fun!

Balloons: They're fun to push around and even more fun to pop!
