Slides from GDC09 Presentation

Here are the slides from PlayCrafter's presentation "Game Making IS the Game: Lessons Learned from Four Distinct Casual Game Creation Communities" at the Game Developers Conference. We were a highlighted session of the Worlds In Motion Summit.
We presented with our friends from Sharendipity, Gendai Games and Mockingbird.

New Features: New Game Screens, Faster Initial Loading

We're pleased to unveil some new features we've been working on.

New Instructions Screens
We've separated the instructions from the start screen and put them on their own screen. With this added real-estate, we've been able to redesign the instructions to make them more specific and understandable.

New Game Screens
The start, win, lose, high scores and pause screen have all been updated. They are now slicker and show options like "I like it!" and "Leave a comment" in a prominent way.

Faster Initial Loading
We've sped up the initial loading time of PlayCrafter. Now the Workshop isn't loaded until you actually go there and the game player loads only when you first play a game.

New Pieces: 2 Stone Blocks, 2 Slate Blocks & Grass

Yay! New Pieces! Your games will look even cooler with these blocks and grass trim.

Stone Square: A square block made of stone.

Stone Triangle: A triangular block made of stone.

Slate Square: A square block made of slate.

State Triangle: A triangular block made of slate.

Grass Platform: A nice little grassy add-on for your blocks. See? Like this.
